Printable BMI chart (free PDF)

A one-page BMI table you can print and pin up. US Letter or A4, in feet and pounds or in centimetres and kilograms.

What is on the chart

Each PDF is a full BMI table: height down the side, weight across the top, and the BMI for every combination, shaded by adult category (underweight under 18.5, healthy weight 18.5 to 24.9, overweight 25 to 29.9, obesity 30 or more). The source of the categories and the address bmichart.app are printed at the bottom. Numbers are BMI rounded to one decimal, as the CDC does.

For school nurses, gyms and trainers

You are welcome to print as many copies as you like. The chart is for adults: for pupils, use the CDC Child and Teen BMI Calculator or growth charts. Everyone who uses it should know that BMI is a screening estimate and does not measure body fat directly.

Questions

Is the printable BMI chart free?

Yes. Print it, put it on a wall at a gym, clinic or school, or hand it out. Please keep the source line at the bottom.

Which PDF should I choose?

US Letter is the standard paper size in the US and Canada; A4 is used almost everywhere else. Pick feet/inches and pounds or centimetres and kilograms, whichever your scale and tape measure use.

How do I print it at the right size?

Open the PDF and print at 100% or “actual size”, landscape. “Fit to page” also works; the table just gets slightly smaller.

Can I use this chart for children?

No. The chart uses adult cut-offs for people aged 20 and over. Children and teens are assessed with BMI-for-age percentiles.
